Lovely stay at the Thistle hotel. Excellent location, rooms very clean with everything you need, service and breakfast good

Location is obviously really amazing, right in the middle of Piccadilly Circus & Leicester Square. However, the room is rather average. Air conditioning goes on & off during night, and the minibar is rather useless. It's not actually cold at all, so you can barely store any sandwiches there for example, and your sodas will be warm in a few hours. When mentioning this at the reception, we were told it's actually a cooler and not supposed to be cold. Also there's two lifts, but the other one was out of order for our whole stay, and I suspect it's been that way for quite long and no one's even trying to do anything about it. This meant rather long waiting times for the lift at times. Overall there's a lot better out there, for the same or even lower price, since this was rather expensive for what you actually get. I'd reccommend the hotel Cavendish, where we stayed last year, just a few hundred metres away from this hotel, everything just worked a lot better in there and it's better value for your money.

Very disappointed with hotel, would not return. Rooms are dated lots of red wood. Carpeting needs replacing in the corridors. NO BAR, NO RESTAURANT. Breakfast was fair but had better, the breakfast area is very out dated, looks like a gentleman’s club in the 1980’s. Our room looked over the roof of theatre next door, which was lit up at nighttime all the machines they needed for presentation. This room was allegedly one of the better rooms. NO WE WILL NOT REPEAT EXPERIENCE

The location is right in the middle of things and makes it easy to walk or use the underground. We took advantage of the breakfast each of the 6 mornings we were there. Very nice team working the breakfast room. Most of the people we encountered were very nice and helpful with the exception of one particularly rude woman that left us with a negative feeling upon our check out. It's a shame to have someone so nasty for no reason with no awareness of customer service for our last impression of this hotel. Also, there was info for room service in the room, but when we called to order from it, we were told that they don't actually have it at that location! Only at their location down the street! Then why have the info in the room? The response made no sense, so we ended up ordering from an outside delivery service. The bed was very comfy and the room was surprisingly quiet, considering the outside noise. We had a small problem with our shower, but it was adequately addressed.
